Natural Remedies of ADHD



ADHD is a term that stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It is a neurological and behavioral condition that causes difficulty in concentrating, impulsiveness and excessive energy. It is a fairly common disorder that affects lots of people especially the school age children, although, adults can also develop the symptoms of the disease but it is more prominent among children as about 10% of school children have the disease without even knowing about it.

However apart from food, other factors can increase the propensity to develop ADHD in children, such as stress, change in school or even parental divorce or even relocation from one house and street or from one state to another can directly or indirectly lead to exhibition of such traits as peculiar to ADHD. The symptoms are more severe from one individual to another, therefore it could be very tricky to diagnose at times.  The most prominent symptom of ADHD is difficulty with concentration at a given task. Other symptoms in children may include but not limited to boredom (lack of interest), impatience, lack of focus etc while in adults, the symptoms may manifest in such forms such as frequent mood swings, anxiety, easily gets angry, sleep issues, lack of appetite, lack of concentration, emotional restlessness etc.

It therefore goes to say that the use of drug to fight the symptoms of ADHD is not a reliable thing to do. Also, stimulants may bring about some side effects such as sleep problems; mood swings etc which could even compound the symptoms of the disease instead of reducing it. What then is the best remedy or treatment for ADHD? The best is to engage the use of natural remedies in treating and managing the disorder. Knowledge of the right thing makes resolving any problem a lot easier. Here are some of the most important natural (non drug) factors to incorporate in treating ADHD;
Try out Yoga: Yes YOGA. Yoga is a mind and body workout out that has a lot of benefits for the body, part of which is increased concentration. One of its many strong points is that it helps the mind to focus. Since the major issue with ADHD is lack of concentration, then Yoga may be about the best solution to treating and managing ADHD. Watch your diet: Diet is a strong causative factor to ADHD. It therefore goes to say that to treat it; a good way to go about it is by taking cognizance of the diet that can increase the symptoms of ADHD and eliminating them from the foods that one consumes. Avoid foods with chemical additives and coloring as much as you can and instead take more of fruits because they contain vitamins that can help develop the brain and helps it to concentrate more.
See a Neurologist: ADHD has to do with a lot about the brain, therefore, anyone suffering from ADHD or knows someone suffering from it should go to or invite the person suffering from it to see a brain doctor (neurologist) as early as possible. More Sleep: Lack of sleep obviously can make an individual fidgety, prone to anger, anxious and exhibit traits of ADHD both in adults and children. The individual could create a definite time for sleep and eliminate any form of disturbance that may rear up and interrupt the sleep. More sleep will calm down an individual, therefore more sleep is recommended for patients suffering from ADHD.
ADHD is a threat to self actualization and can limit the potentials of the individual therefore it must be decisively dealt with and treated as soon as possible.
